The Beacon Initiative was created as TWMC’s long-term commitment to listening to the financial concerns of families, seniors, business owners, caregivers, community organizations, and the professionals who serve them. Before developing educational resources or community initiatives, we believe it is important to first understand the questions people are asking and the challenges they are facing.

Too often, financial advice begins with recommendations. We believe it should begin with conversation.

Through Beacon Conversations, we meet with community leaders, trusted professionals, charitable organizations, faith communities, healthcare providers, educators, and local organizations to learn about the financial issues affecting the people they serve. Those conversations help us identify common concerns, recognize emerging needs, and develop educational resources that are relevant, practical, and meaningful.

The knowledge we gain through these conversations becomes the foundation for future Beacon Articles, community presentations, planning guides, workshops, and educational initiatives. Our goal is not simply to share information, but to provide education that reflects the real experiences of the communities we serve.

How It Works

Beacon Conversations

Individual listening sessions with clergy, caregivers, and community leaders who already hold this region together.

The Beacon Community Report

A clear, honest picture of where support is needed most — built entirely from the voices of the people living it.

A Light Worth Finding

Programs and support shaped by what the community actually asked for — not what we assumed they needed.

This approach isn’t theoretical. It comes from time spent sitting quietly with people in hospital rooms — first with a retired racing greyhound named Cassie, now continuing with Lexi, who is training toward therapy dog certification.

It comes from navigating significant life transitions of my own, and learning firsthand what it means to need a light when the water gets rough — the same steady presence I try to bring to every financial planning conversation.

Be Part of the First Conversation

The Beacon Initiative is built on one belief.

“The best financial guidance begins with listening.”

If you know this community — its needs, its people, its quiet struggles — we’d like to hear from you.
